The Bears of Berk (D&D 5e Module)
A downloadable module
This work is listed as in development, which in this case means it still needs to be proofread. It is fully playable at the time of publication, but please consider that there may be typos.
The Bears of Berk is a one-shot meant to enhance or fill out the world a DM already has established. It is setting neutral and can be placed in any reasonable geography, though the intended starting location is in a small mining community nestled between the edge of a mountain and the first few trees of a forest.
As an overview, characters will need to interact with a few local NPCs before deciding to venture forth and solve the problems outlined in the adventure. A snow storm has driven the adventurers from their intended destination to a small mining community. After the snow melts, the locals inform the party that the road out of town is being blocked by bears hunting in the woods.
Players can decide how to get out of town, select from a number of recruit-able NPCs, and navigate the wilderness before having a few encounters with the awakened bear community. As conflict comes to a head, options exist for combat or negotiation, including a purely peaceful diplomatic route.
This work is a work of fiction created entirely be Daniel Sanford without the use of AI, and acknowledgements of royalty free artwork have been included in the Resources Used section at the end. Some of the artwork has been modified in Photoshop or Illustrator from it's original look in order to better match the setting.
Included are 4 recruit-able NPCs with partial statblocks (feel free to embellish them with relevant equipment, skills and spells) full stat blocks for homebrew monsters and major boss characters, a homebrew magical item, and layouts for 2 battle maps.
